The vineyard estate with its historic château and accompanying technical buildings is located on the left bank of the Gironde River in the famous French wine region of Bordeaux. The vineyards produce wine classified as Cru Bourgeois Supérieur. In the autumn of 2023, we began renovating the production area, building new technical facilities with modern technologies. In 2024, a complete renovation of the castle building and adjacent park began. The renovation is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
Wine jewel of Bordeaux
An integral part of the project is the sensitive restoration of the vineyards, for which we have hired leading oenologists. The investment aims to fulfil the vision and aspirations of the owners, who want to open the winery to the public and wine tourism and enhance the prestige of the town of Lesparre. The modernisation plans are synchronised with the reclassification within the Cru Bourgeois, which will now take into account aspects of environmental sustainability. The reclassification to a higher class was successfully completed in February 2025. The Chateau Escot Cru Bourgeois wine now boasts the higher Cru Bourgeois Supérieur class. We continue to strive to achieve the highest Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel classification by 2030.
